Global Dive Expeditions (GDE) is the SCUBA diving part of Live Adventurously. We show people how fun, easy, safe, adventurous and “off the couch” a SCUBA diving expedition can be.

We believe that adventure is best shared with friends so we travel on our SCUBA diving expeditions with a close knit tribe. We’ve got great friends we’ve traveled with for years and great friends we’ve yet to meet. We welcome you to join if you have a heart for adventure and are willing to get your butt off the couch and do it.

Our Manifesto

  • We believe in meticulous pre-planning, attention to detail and an emphasis on safety.
  • We believe that travel is the best way to have a once-in-a-lifetime adventure – at least every year.
  • We believe that you should be free from the worries of vetting dive operators, restaurants, boats and resorts because there is a lot we can’t see, smell or taste over the internet.
  • We believe just because we roughed it in college, we shouldn’t have to now.
  • We believe that we should come back with more than we left – and not just in our luggage.
  • We believe that we should get to know the local people’s wherever we go. If we want everything to be just like at home, stay home.
  • We believe in leaving things better than when we found them and giving back.

What is Surf and Turf?

Most Global Dive Expeditions are Surf & Turf, and although we do have steak and lobster on many, that’s not what we’re talking about here. Simply put, it’s the best of both underwater and land as we’ve designed our expeditions to take advantage of both. Most of the greatest dive resorts and destinations in the world are located in places with incredible land adventures too, so we do it all. World class diving followed by world class land adventures like zip lining, visiting a local shaman, walking a WWII battlefield, horseback riding up a volcano, exploring an albatross colony, exploring ancient Mayan ruins, black water rafting, kite sailing, 4×4′ing through the jungle or visiting a remote village that has never received an outside group before. After diving, that’s how we might spend the balance of our days.

What if My Spouse/Significant Other Doesn’t Dive?

Most of our expeditions are perfect for a couple where one dives and the other doesn’t. The diver can enjoy two morning dives and those who care not to dive can enjoy their morning time with a lie in, snorkeling, reading, the spa, photography, hang-gliding, base jumping, kite sailing or whatever they are into for fun.

What if I’m Traveling as a Single?

No worries. That’s one of the great things about the Tribe. We’re all friends and we all hang out together.

Do We Have to Hang Out with Other People all the Time?

Not at all. It’s your adventure. If you want to have a romantic candle lit dinner on the beach for two, go for it! Its one of our favorite things to do.
